Takes about a minute.
After installing, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. You should see the DNS profile listed there. Your DNS queries are now encrypted and filtering is active.
To temporarily stop using the resolver without removing it:
Your iPhone will go back to using your default DNS provider.
Try toggling Airplane Mode on and off. If that doesn't fix it, the resolver may be temporarily down — disable the profile (steps above) to get back online, and re-enable it later.
Some networks (hotels, airports, corporate WiFi) block encrypted DNS. If a specific network always causes problems, disable the profile while on that network and re-enable it when you leave.
